Hi! Welcome to Angela Writes Hope – a space where I share my journey of resilience, creativity, and finding joy amidst life’s challenges.
In 2007, my life irreversibly changed. What was suppose to be a simple surgery to remove a cyst between the posterior and anterior pituitary glands turned into something far more serious. Three weeks after the operation, I nearly bled to death from my nasal cavity – the area the surgeons accessed to perform my surgery.
Since then, I’ve been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Gastroparesis, and Dysautonomia – three chronic illnesses that, individually, are challenging and together can feel overwhelming. On top of that, I developed several food allergies that didn’t exist prior to the surgery. Over the years, I have had to adapt – learning how to pace myself, manage my symptoms to maintain a full-time job and social life, and get creative in the kitchen despite allergies to things like corn, oats, and chicken.
I started this blog to offer hope to others navigating health challenges. While I don’t have all the answers, I have learned plenty of tips and tricks along the way that might help you too. You’ll also find me sharing my love of writing, cooking, baking, crocheting, reading, and hiking – because life isn’t just about managing illness – but finding joy wherever we can.
Thank you for stopping by – I’m so glad you are here. Let’s navigate this journey together.
